PEACE-Fully Connected
“To experience the richness of life, of real love and authentic forgiveness,
we first have to master our minds in order to come to that place of PEACE”
Sandra and Daniel Biskind

Peace of mind is a state of mental and emotional balance and calm, free of worries, fears or stress. In this state, the mind is quiet, and you experience a gentle sense of happiness and freedom.

Such peaceful moments are not as rare as you may think. You have experienced them at times when you were engaged in some kind of absorbing or interesting activity.

Here are a few examples:

  • Being in the company of someone you love.
  • Walking in your favorite place in nature.
  • Being absorbed in reading a book.
  • Lying on warm sand at the beach.
  • On vacation, when you experience mental rest and forget about your work and day-to-day-life.
  • In deep sleep, when you are not aware of anything.
  • During conscious deep breathing and meditation

Such activities, and similar ones, take the mind away from its usual thoughts and worries and replace them with an experience of inner peace.

How can you bring more peace of mind into your life? And how can you experience it in times of difficulties and ordeals?

You might also want to know whether it is possible to turn it into a habit and enjoy it all the time and under all circumstances.

Here are some things you can do to enjoy more peace in your life.

10 Tips for Peace of Mind

  1. Minimize and curate the time you spend reading newspapers or watching the news on TV. Most of the news is negative and manipulative and there’s usually nothing you can do about it.  Why feel stressed and anxious over something you can’t change?
  2. Don’t enter into negative conversations and stay away from negative people. You don’t want their thoughts, words and energy effecting you if it can be helped.
  3. Don’t hold grudges. It is enlightened self interest to learn to move on and forgive. Nurturing ill feelings and grievances hurts you in many ways, including causing poor sleep.
  4. You have no need to be jealous of others. Jealousy means you have a program running that says. “I’m not good enough,” Jealousy and low self esteem rob your peace of mind. Get neutral to that program.
  5. Accept what cannot be changed. This saves a lot of time, energy and worries. Every day, you face numerous inconveniences, irritations and situations that are beyond your control. If you can change them, great, but if you can’t change them, get neutral to needing them to be different.
  6. Avoid evoking unpleasant memories and immersing yourself in them. Focus on the present moment –  you have nothing to fear in this moment.
  7. Be patient and tolerant with your family, friends, co-workers, employees—and everyone else.
  8. Don’t take things personally. If someone hurts you it is not always about you.
  9. Train your mind. You can train your mind to reject worries and anxieties, refuse to think negative thoughts, and eliminate constant (usually negative) mind chatter.
  10. Just a few minutes a day of focused breathing and meditation will make a big difference in your life. You will become more peaceful, relaxed and happy.

Inner peace eventually leads to external peace. By creating peace in your inner world you gently bring it into your external world and into other people’s lives.

Here’s to enjoying the peace of mind you desire in your life and being a powerful influence for peace in the lives of those you love.

Love Always,
